If you didn't know the name Clint Dempsey before today, you sure do now. The attacking midfielder and forward just scored the fastest goal by an American in World Cup history, putting the US ahead of Ghana 32 seconds after the game started, resulting in America's victory over Ghana 2-1. Here are five things you may not know about him.
1. Not only did Dempsey just score the fastest goal by an American in World Cup history, he's also the first American to score goals in three different World Cups -- Germany, South Africa, Brazil.
2. He's no stranger to the record books. Dempsey was also the first American player to score a hat-trick in the English Premier League in their 5-2 win over Newcastle United in January 2012.
3. He's also a rapper. Using the alias "Deuce," Dempsey is featured alongside Texas rappers XO and Big Hawk in the song "Don't Tread" for the Nike Soccer campaign for the 2006 World Cup.
