Obama voted worst U.S. president since WWII

In a poll of U.S. presidents ranging from 1945 to 2014, Barack Obama was voted to be the absolute least favorite. The poll was conducted by Quinnipiac University, a private Connecticut university recognized for its Polling Institute.

Followed very closely behind President Obama was George W. Bush, who narrowly escaped being voted the worst by 5%. Together, the two presidents accounted for more than half of the survey of the total 12 presidents included in the poll.

Worst Presidents, 1945-2014:

1. Barack Obama - 33%

2. George W. Bush - 28%

3. Richard Nixon - 13%

4. Jimmy Carter - 8%

5. Lyndon Johnson - 3%

6. Bill Clinton - 3%

7. Ronald Reagan - 3%

8. Gerald Ford - 2%

9. George H.W. Bush - 2%

10. Dwight D. Eisenhower - 1%

11. Harry Truman - < 0%

12. John F. Kennedy - < 0%

However, in the same poll data by Quinnipiac University, voters rethink who is the worst when the question is rephrased as ""which one would consider the best president?"

1. Ronald Reagan - 35%

2. Bill Clinton - 18%

3. John F. Kennedy - 15%

4. Barack Obama - 8%

5. Dwight D. Eisenhower - 5%

6. Harry Truman - 4%

7. George H.W. Bush - 3%

8. Lyndon Johnson - 3%

9. Jimmy Carter - 2%

10. Gerald Ford - 1%

11. Richard Nixon - 1%

12. George W. Bush - 1%

At the top of the list, former Hollywood actor and California governor, Ronald Reagan, was voted as the most favorite, followed by Bill Clinton. George W. Bush is consistently unfavorable, while the majority of the presidents shift more than three spaces when the question is rephrased. Read the Quinnipiac data here.
