Zion crash kills 1 after reported shooting

ZION, Ill. (WLS) -- Reports of shots fired early Sunday morning in far north suburban Zion ended with a vehicle crash and one man dead.

Police were responding to the reports of gunfire just after midnight near 27th and Galilee when officers discovered a single vehicle accident one block away.

A 30-year-old man from Zion, the only occupant of the car, died at the scene.

Zion police say they are investigating the incident as a homicide.
