CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 112th birthday celebration was held for Wash Wesley Sunday in the city's East Garfield neighborhood.
"Try to do the best they can, do good. If they know what good is, do good, and let evil alone," he said.
Wesley, better known to family and friends as "Uncle Hicks," actually turned 112 last week, but everyone gathered to party on Sunday.
"Uncle Hicks" isn't the oldest living person in Chicago, but his family said that he is the oldest licensed driver in the state.
Wesley is still active, cooking and cleaning, as well as visiting the sick every week.
