Michelle Obama brought down the house Monday night at the Democratic National Convention with an uplifting speech she wrote with longtime collaborator Sarah Hurwitz.
Hurwitz has worked with Obama since 2008, but prior to that, she was Hillary Clinton's chief speechwriter during her 2008 presidential campaign and crafted Clinton's concession speech in which she famously said, "Although we weren't able to shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling this time, thanks to you, it's got about 18 million cracks in it."
Monday night, Obama paid tribute to that line, saying, "Leaders like Hillary Clinton, who has the guts and grace to keep coming back and putting those cracks in that highest and hardest glass ceiling."
