JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- A crash involving a cyclist closed a road in the south suburbs on Monday, according to police.
The crash happened around 3:44 a.m. on West Jefferson Street west of Houbolt Road, Joliet police said.
Chopper 7 was at the scene on at 6 a.m. where video showed a bike lodged under a dark colored Jeep SUV.
A woman, 57, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Jefferson Street when she struck a 20-year-old man that was riding a bike.
The man was thrown from the bicycle and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Police added that the bicycle had no lights, and there were no streetlights in the area.

The roadway was closed for until about 8:20 a.m.
No other injuries were reported.
