Skokie police investigating crash between cyclist and car
The crash shut down Touhy Avenue over the Edens Expressway overnight into Sunday.

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- A teenager is recovering after being hit by a car while riding a bike in the north suburbs, police said.

The crash happened at Touhy Avenue over the I-94 expressway on Saturday around 10:55 p.m., according to Skokie police.

A car was driving westbound on Toughy when it truck a 17-year-old riding a bike, Skokie police said.

The driver and the car were still at the scene when police arrived.

The teenager was taken to the hospital and police said his condition was stabalized.

Toughy Avenue was shutdown for hours as police investigated the crash. The road reopened by 7 a.m. on Sunday.
