Off-duty Chicago police officer involved in shooting near Printers Row in South Loop, COPA says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An off-duty Chicago police officer fired her gun early Saturday morning in the South Loop, according to the Civilian office of Accountability.

The shots were fired at around 3:45 a.m. near the 100 block of West Polk Street near the Printers Row neighborhood.

Chicago police said it started when a 25-year-old man was approached on the sidewalk by two suspects on Polk near Clark.

The 25-year-old female officer noticed and drove up to the men, police said. That's when one of the suspects shot at her and she fired fired back., CPD said.

No one was hit, and so far, no one is in custody.
