Greg Dutra
Greg Dutra is the weekend evening news meteorologist at ABC 7, the number one station in Chicago, bringing viewers accurate forecasts on the station's 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. top-rated newscasts. He joined ABC 7 in September 2019, serving in the role of weekend morning news meteorologist until his promotion in March 2023.
When Greg signed on at the station, ABC 7's Vice President of News, Jennifer Graves commented, "Greg's weather forecasting skills and dynamic personality make him a perfect fit for our weather team."
According to Greg, his favorite part of the job is forecasting winter storms which also makes him a perfect fit for predicting weather in the Windy City. Throughout his time at the station, he has reported from various storm sites in addition to his studio forecasts.
Greg's compelling positive attitude has led him to have many fun moments with the ABC 7 team on air, one of which went viral in 2022.
Greg came to ABC 7 from KDVR-TV, the Fox affiliate in Denver, Colorado, where he was the weekday morning meteorologist. He honed his experience forecasting Midwestern weather in Davenport, Iowa, where he worked at KWQC-TV, the NBC station. Prior to that, he worked as a meteorologist at WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine.
Greg is a graduate of Lyndon State College in Vermont, where he earned a B.S. in Atmospheric Science. He holds a Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA).
