American Red Cross launches new blood donor app

PEORIA, Ill. (WLS) -- The American Red Cross launched a blood donor app Tuesday to allow users the convenience of scheduling, tracking, and earning rewards for blood donations from their smartphone.

The blood donor app allows users to schedule blood donations, track their total donations, earn rewards and invite friends to join them on a lifesaving team. It also allows users to find the nearest blood drive and track their blood on its journey to a hospital.

The free app is available for download in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
