Man charged with striking police officer with vehicle

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Anthony M. Turner, 24, has been charged with striking a police officer with a vehicle, police said.



Turner was arrested Saturday after allegedly striking an officer with a vehicle in the 6500-block of S. Langley around 10 p.m., police said. He was allegedly seen driving the wrong way down a street, and as police approached the vehicle, he accelerated and struck an officer while attempting to flee, police said. He then allegedly struck a parked car and fled on foot, but was arrested shortly after.



The injured officer was taken to a hospital and released.



Turned is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
