Delaware meth, weapons ring busted

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - December 14, 2007 Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in New Jersey alerted officials in Delaware and a source involved with the group set up a deal for a kilo of crystal meth to be brought to Wilmington.

On Tuesday, a search warrant was executed at the site where the deal was to be completed and 17 pounds of marijuana, 256 grams of methamphetamine, 209 grams of crystal meth and a shotgun were found.

Details on the ring were revealed in a criminal complaint against Remigio Camacho, who holds U.S. and Mexican citizenship. Yesterday, a federal grand jury returned an eight-count indictment against Camacho for drug trafficking.

U.S. Attorney Colm Connolly says the use of methamphetamine is a growing problem in Delaware and the arrest of Camacho is important to stopping the drug from gaining a foothold.
