The number of expectant mothers with pre-existing diabetes has more than doubled in seven years. Diabetic teenagers giving birth has increased five-fold, according to a study from health care provider Kaiser Permanente.
Women who don't control their diabetes face an increased risk of miscarriage and still birth. Babies have a higher chance of being born with birth defects.
