Police Superintendent Jody Weis has a new plan for balancing protecting President-elect Barack Obama and keeping the city's neighborhoods safe. Because of concerns about taking officers away from their districts and regular patrols, Weis says Obama's detail will now be made up of officers who are on their days off.

Weis also says the department will be assigning administrative officers, newly graduated officers and those in the training academy to help protect the president-elect.
