Four cold-related deaths reported

CHICAGO The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said the cold is at least partially responsible for four deaths.

It's only early December and a colder-than-normal weather pattern has dominated for nearly a month. It looks likely to last for at least a few more days with highs topping out only in the 20's.

The most recent death happened on the South Side. Marie Hughes, 48 slipped and fell outside her home on east 120th place.

An autopsy determined she died from the fall, but cold exposure was partly to blame.
