Date set for casino reopening

May 28, 2009 (CHICAGO) The fire back in March is believed to have been sparked by a welder. No one was hurt. Damage was estimated at $340 million.

The fire has been a jolt to Joliet's city budget. Every month the casino is closed results in about an $850,000 loss to the city.

Gaming fees from the city's two casinos have declined from $37 million in 2007 to a projected $21 million this year.
