Fireworks on the 3rd and 4th of July attract more than a million people to Chicago's Lakefront and Navy Pier, residents should anticipate rolling street closures and parking restrictions throughout the area.

STREET CLOSURES

The City of Chicago anticipates closing Michigan Avenue as early as 6:30 p.m. Additional rolling streets closures will begin at 8:00 p.m., depending on crowd size, in the area bounded by:
'B7 'B7Wacker on the West
'B7 Michigan on the East
'B7 Ontario on the North
'B7 16th Street on the South

Drivers should also be aware that, as conditions warrant, traffic may be diverted west from the Lakefront. The Chicago Police Department and traffic control personnel will be present to assist with reroutes.

Residents who live in the area will be allowed access with residential parking passes.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Additional parking restrictions will be in effect in the Grant Park and Loop area. Drivers are urged to read signage before parking and adhere to all restrictions.
