Woman rescued from WTC hotel dies

December 22, 2009 Gilmore and her mother, Faye, visited with Arnulfo Ponce and Gregory Frederickin Chicago last October.

The men saved the two women when they were stuck in the Marriott World Trade Center hotel near Ground Zero.

Leigh Gilmore used a wheelchair. And her mother refused to leave her.

Ponce and Frederick were engineers at the hotel. On 9/11, they went to check on Gilmore and saved both women moments before the South Tower collapsed on the hotel.
