Thirty-three-year-old Justin Pivec is charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
Police say that early Tuesday Pivec was beating his wife in the 1300-block of West Ohio Street. That's when musician Matthew Leone reportedly stepped in and tried to help the woman.
Police say Pivec then turned on Leone and started beating him.
Leone is the bass player for the band Madina Lake.
