Former NHL hockey player's mom dies in accident

SYLVANIA, OH Members of her second family at Tam-O-Shanter remember Jablonski as the woman who lived to skate. She touched many lives during her years at the rink, teaching private skating lessons for decades.

Just yesterday, Jablonski was teaching lessons. Today, former co-workers and students remember the woman known for her charisma and caring nature.

According to police, around 7:00 last night, Jablonski's car went into a pond behind her Stone Oak home. Dive teams located the car an hour later. Jablonski was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

News of the tragedy spread quickly. Sons Jeff and Pat played professional hockey for years, giving the family deep roots at the Sylvania ice rink. Today, her studio ice is empty but everyone will remember the pint-sized instructor that never stopped skating.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating what led to the accident. Funeral arrangements for Jablonski are pending.
