A street sign was dedicated for a Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty on Friday afternoon.

The sign at 82nd and Damen Avenue honors Officer Eric Lee.

He was shot to death in August of 2001 while helping a man who was being beaten in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Officer Lee was 37 years old, and had been on the force nine years.
