Corps: More voltage needed to block Asian carp

The Army Corps of Engineers may turn up the voltage on the electric barriers put up to block Asian carp from the Great Lakes.

The corps says the barrier on the Chicago Sanitary and Ship canal may not stop small carp unless there's more power.

But it explains those fish are still a long distance from the barrier, so there's no rush.

Biologists say if the Asian carp get past the barrier, they could threaten other wildlife and the $7 billion Great Lakes fishing industry.
