Peraica was arrested after he walked into the Bridgeview courthouse more than an hour and a half late for a hearing.
Peraica is accused of defacing campaign signs of political opponent Jeffrey Tobolski one year ago.
Peraica lost that race. He has been trying to have the case thrown out.
Peraica was let out of jail after Tuesday's hearing ended.
