The Wall Street Journal reports the bank is testing monthly charges between $6 and $25 on basic checking accounts. Fees are based on whether or not a customer agrees to bank online, if they maintain a minimum balance, and if they have a mortgage or a credit card with the bank.
Last year, Bank of America received so much customer backlash for a $5 charge on debit purchases that it changed its mind about the fee.
