Last month, the 13th Annual Chicago Wing Fest brought out more than 2,000 Chicago-area chicken-wing lovers for a fierce wing-eating extravaganza.

Over 45,000 chicken wings were consumed in Bailey Auditorium. 20 Chicago area restaurants participated in the fest. Each establishment participated in two of their choice of the following categories: Mild Wings, Hot Wings, BBQ Wings and Exotic Wings. The following were proclaimed winners, in a double-blind judged competition: Best Mild Wing: Gators Wing Shack, Best Hot Wing: Jake Melnick's Corner Tap, Best BBQ Wing: Reggie's Music Joint, Best Exotic Wing: Cans and the coveted Best of the Fest: Gators Wing Shack.

To date, Wing Fest has raised over $135,000 for various charities, and this year's Wing Fest netted $5,000 for Chicago Neighbors United [], a community based organization which provides educational scholarships to inner city youth, and Neighbors of River West, a community minded organization that assists various neighborhood programs throughout the year.
