The nose doctor was indicted in 2006 on 22 counts of federal health care fraud. He is accused of billing insurance companies for procedures that were not performed.
Weinberger was on the run for five years and fled to the mountains of Italy where he was eventually captured.
Last week, Weinberger reached a deal with federal prosecutors, agreeing to plead guilty in exchange for a sentence of no more than 10 years in prison.
