A spokesperson says the couple was living too far apart. He's still in high school. The news of the breakup comes as Swift's recently released album, Red, climbs the charges. Swift is known for writing about her breakups in her songs. "Red" was recorded during her relationship with Gyllenhaal. Another album, "Dear John," is, according to John Mayer, about their breakup, although she calls him "presumptuous" for saying that. Swift is poised to become the first woman to sell one million units in a week for two separate albums.
