CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning residents of the city's Washington Park neighborhood of reported armed robberies in the area.
In two incidents, police say an offender approached victims requesting cigarettes before displaying a handgun and demanding property. The offender then allegedly fled in a silver or grey vehicle.
Incidents were reported at the following locations:
7200-block of S. South Chicago Ave. on Dec. 21 around 4:30 p.m.
7400-block of S. State St. on Dec. 28 at around 6:20 a.m.
Police describe the offender as an African American man between 18-30 years old with a medium complexion and dreadlocks. The man is between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 and weighs between 150-165 pounds.
