CHICAGO (WLS) -- A semi-truck driver and the company he works for are accused of causing a crash that killed a Chicago stage actor in Munster, Ind., last September.

Bernie Yvon was on his way to rehearsal when his car collided with the semi.

A lawsuit filed Thursday says the semi driver was speeding, failed to yield the right of the way, and neglected to equip his vehicle with adequate brakes. The semi driver is employed by Pacer Cartage.

Yvon was performing in Theater at the Centre's production of "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown."
