SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- During the Halloween season, most people are looking for a little scare and Blind Scream haunted house can deliver.
"Haunted Houses are a great way for people to laugh and cry and scream all at once," Blind Scream Co-owner Judy Walker shares.
Blind Scream is a haunted attraction that spans more than 20,000 square feet, designed to invoke fear and fun.
"It was really fun, but scary," attendee Amber states.
"When you see something or you don't see it," Co-owner Drew Dominguez reveals, "it's all part of the theater of the mind."
Visitors will explore the "Witch House," a maze filled with atmosphere and suspense.
"We take you into crypts, and we take you into the witch's house," Walker explains.
"Every element in this haunted house helps to tell the story," Dominguez adds.
"We added animatronics. We added more projections. We added more sounds," Walker continues.
But there is something more foreboding awaiting guests of this seasonal attraction.
"All of that doesn't replace actors," Walker declares, "Actors are really valuable in that interaction, in that scare factor with our guests."
"Very unexpected and catches you off guard in a way that scares you," guest Karlos recalls.
A lasting impression is definitely something Walker and Dominguez strive to achieve.
"I think it is really important that our characters go home in your nightmares," Walker remarks.
"The screams are my applause," Dominguez mentions with a smile, "that's probably one of the most rewarding things to know that we've probably personally scared over 100,000 people in our time."
"I was very scared," haunt goer Riley reveals, "we're going to be talking about this for a long time I have a feeling."
