West Loop attack suspect turns self in
Officials say a man turned himself in to police after an attempted sexual assault near the UIC- Halsted Blue Line stop.

CHICAGO -- A man turned himself in to Chicago police in connection with an attack on a woman near the UIC-Halsted stop on the CTA's Blue Line.

The Chicago Police Department released surveillance images earlier this week after the attack in the 900-block of West Van Buren on May 20, 2014.

The offender followed the 19-year-old victim off the Blue Line train and attempted to sexually assault her as she walked through a construction zone in the West Loop, police said. She was able to fight him off.
