Body found in Lake Michigan near Grant Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A body was found Sunday in Lake Michigan near Buckingham Fountain and Grant Park.

The body was male and decomposed, Chicago police said.

The body was pulled from the water just after 4 p.m. in the 500 block of South Lake Shore Drive after police were called to an unresponsive individual in the water.

The identity of the person was not immediately determined.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has scheduled an autopsy.

Chicago police's Area Central Detectives are investigating.
