Boil order issued for west suburban Bellwood

BELLWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A boil order is in effect for some west suburban Bellwood residents Saturday due to a water main break, village officials said.

At 2 p.m. the warning was for only residents west of Mannheim Road. Earlier Saturday, the boil order was for the all of the suburb.

The order means that all water that is used for drinking or cooking needs to be boiled before using. Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled.

There is no timeline yet of when the boil order will be lifted.
