BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. -- A grand jury has indicted a 15-year old girl in the death of her stepmother.
The indictment handed down in Boyle County says Jenna Oakley "committed the offense of murder by causing the death of 52-year-old Rhonda Oakley, or that another person did so by acting in complicity with the defendant to commit this crime."
It also charges her with Theft by Unlawful Taking. Prosecutors charged Oakley as an adult in the case.
"The whole time I knew who did this. And so no it is not a surprise. I just want her to get what she deserves," said Phillip Oakley, Jenna's father.
Rhonda Oakley's stepson found her body on September 1st when he returned home from school. At that point, Kentucky State Police issued an alert for her 15-year-old daughter, Jenna. She was missing along with her stepmother's car.
The Tucumcari Police Department and Quay County Sheriff's Office found Jenna Oakley and her 20-year-old boyfriend, Kenneth Nigh, in a Motel 6 parking lot in New Mexico on September 3rd.
Emergency crews had to rush Nigh to a hospital on September 5th after jail officials say he tried to kill himself. According to the Commonwealth's Attorney, Nigh is on life-support. Nigh has not yet been charged in the case.
Phillip Oakley says he did see signs of possible trouble.
"There were people who knew things as far as between Kenny and and Jenna I talked to, and tried to get help. Nobody did anything," said Oakley.
Phillip Oakley says he wants justice and for his daughter to be punished.
"I have no remorse for whatever happens to Jenna. She deserves everything she gets," said Oakley.
WKYT reports that Jenna Oakley will be arraigned on November 1st.
