Victim returns gunfire during Brainerd attempted robbery, police say

Two suspects and one victim were wounded in a Brainerd apartment building.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three people were shot in an attempted robbery in the city's Brainerd neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

Police said two alleged robbers confronted a 33-year-old man in the second floor hallway of an apartment building in the 1400-block of West 90th Street just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

One of the suspects allegedly pulled a gun and told the man he was being robbed. Police said that suspect shot the male victim, who in turn pulled his own gun and shot both suspects.

All three are hospitalized in stable condition. One person is being treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Two people are being treated at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park.

Police have not released the identities of the suspects in the shooting.
