BROOKFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Police and fire crews responded to a gas main break in west suburban Brookfield Monday morning.
The village website said a main was struck in the 4100-block of Deyo Avenue.
Nicor officials said no one was evacuated. Village officials originally said some people had been evacuated, but none occurred.
The village urged drivers to steer clear of the area to give Nicor and Public Safety personnel room to work. Repairs are expected to wrap up by around 1:30 p.m.
