Building collapse closes part of West 55th Street in Gage Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A partial building collapse in Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood closed eastbound West 55th Street between South Mozart Street and South California Avenue

The one-story building in the 2700-block of West 55th Street appears to house a restaurant and an office. Two walls are hanging off the building and bricks spilled onto the sidewalk and street. The roof appears to have caved in where the walls fell.

No injuries were reported in the collapse.

Investigators are looking into what happened. The street closure will be in place until crews clear the scene.
