CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating 16 break-ins that have been reported at three separate Metra parking lots in the city's South and Southeast Sides, officials said.
Two cars parked in the Brainerd Station lot and six cars parked in the 91st Station lot had windows broken and some had items stolen Wednesday, police said. Eight cars were broken into at the 93rd Station on July 31.
Police say they are stepping up patrols at those lots and warning commuters not to leave valuables in plain view inside their cars.
