CHICAGO (WLS) -- 2016 marks the 40th anniversary of the Carole Robertson Center for Learning on the West Side of Chicago. The organization provides education and development programs to more than 650 children and their families. The center has two facilities; one in Little Village and the other in North Lawndale. More than 90 percent of the families served by the Carole Robertson Center for Learning have incomes below the federal poverty level.
Now the organization is looking forward, how to shape the future for the next 40 years in Chicago. CEO of the Carole Robertson Center for Learning, Cerathel Burnett, sat down with ABC7 Eyewitness News to talk about her group's anniversary, and the challenges they still face.
