Chicago's 26 beaches open for the season

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago beaches opened for the season on Friday. The park district was out prepping the sand for the official opening.

While water may not be warm enough to swim, lifeguards are on duty in case brave souls decide to take a dip to cool off.

The city's 26 beaches are open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. now through September 5.
