CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Blues Festival is always a huge event, but the legacy of the blues in Chicago stretches back more than 100 years. The music has inspired generations.

Now a new book is showcasing Chicago's rich blues history. "Images of America: Chicago Blues" is now available at bookstores across the area and online.

Author Wilbert Jones visited the ABC 7 studios to talk about Chicago's long-lasting impact on music.

You can also meet Wilbert Jones when Chicago Gourmets hosts "A Celebration of Chicago Blues in Bronzeville." The event is Sunday, June 14, from noon-2:30 p.m. at The Forum. Proceeds from the event will help with renovations to preserve the historic music space.
