Chicago Defender hosts 110th anniversary party

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Defender celebrated its 110th anniversary Thursday night with a party at the South Shore Cultural Center.

Since the newspaper's founding in 1905, it has been a platform to denounce racism.

It was a major force in the Great Migration of African Americans from the South to the Midwest.
