CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was charged in the shooting of a 14-year-old boy on Chicago's Northwest Side.
Police said 19-year-old Ismael Ortiz hid behind a vehicle in the 5700-block of West Belden Avenue, then fired at three people around 10 p.m. Sunday.
The teen was struck in the hand. He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he is listed in good condition.
Police said the victims identified Ortiz as the shooter. He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
Ortiz, of the 2100-block of North McVicker Avenue, is due in bond court Wednesday.
