CHICAGO (WLS) -- A taste of fall is coming to the Chicago area as a line of heavy showers and storms moved through the city and suburbs.
The stormy weather is causing delays of at least 30 minutes at both Midway and O'Hare airports Thursday afternoon. O'Hare reported at least 50 canceled flights.
But behind the rain is much cooler air, ABC7 metereorologist Cheryl Scott said. Temperatures have already dropped from the mid-70s into the mid-60s across much of the area.
"Heading out tomorrow morning, grab that jacket. Temperatures really won't rebound," Scott said.
The cool weather is expected to last through the weekend, with high temperatures on Friday only reaching the mid-60s, which is about 10 degrees below average. Saturday is forecast to be even cooler.
But don't put away your summer wardrobe just yet - temperatures are expected to rebound back into the 80s by the middle of next week.
