DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Storms dumped heavy rain in the south suburbs late Friday and early Saturday.
In Dolton, some streets were turned into rivers.
One resident said water was coming up through their bathroom toilet.
Another resident said flooding like this typically happens on his street.
"You see every other block, they tend to have, you know, their water goes down but ours still remain. And when it remains, water has to have a place to go to and when it doesn't have a place to go to, so it goes inside of people's homes as well as, it goes, comes up through the toilets," said Dolton resident Luther Lockwood.
Some drivers took chances by driving through the high water, however officials urge motorists against doing that.
