BELMAR, N.J. -- Governor Christie's trip to the Jersey Shore to mark the two-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy kicked up a coastal storm of a different kind.
The Republican was visiting the Monmouth County shore resort of Belmar yesterday.
Jim Keady, a former Democratic city councilman in Asbury Park, stood up and accused Christie of not doing enough for storm victims.
Christie first defended the work his administration has done.
Then he said this: "So listen. You want to have the conversation later, I'm happy to have it, buddy. But until that time, sit down and shut up!"
Keady later accused Christie of being a bully.
The governor's office had no response.
The incident comes as Christie is preparing to decide whether to run for president.
