Videos of attacks on Cook County Jail officers released

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart released videos showing inmates attacking corrections officers inside the Cook County Jail.

The incidents occurred in the jail's maximum security divisions over the past month and a half.

Some of the attacks left deputies injured.

The video release follows Sheriff Dart's decision to also release videos of excessive force incidents involving guards, once they are resolved by the independent merit board.
