CHICAGO (WLS) -- Starting this year, some Chicago Public Schools will have earlier start times.

CPS said 60 high schools and 17 elementary schools will be affected. For the elementary schools, the start time will shift to 7:30 or 7:45 a.m., and for the high schools, the start time will shift to 9 am.

School administrators estimate the changes will save CPS more than $9 million because it will reduce the number of bus shifts.

CPS has not finalized which schools will be impacted.
