CHICAGO (WLS) -- After nearly 20 years, the CTA's 31st Street Bus line is back.

A six-month pilot service of the no. 31 bus launched Tuesday. The line shuttles passengers between the Ashland CTA Orange Line station on the city's Lower West Side and the Lake Meadows Shopping Center Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The CTA said if the test run is successful, service will be restored permanently.
