Chicago's first medical marijuana dispensary opens in Andersonville

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The first medical marijuana dispensary in Chicago opened Wednesday in Andersonville.

Dispensary 33 is located in the 5000-block of N. Clark. One of the owners says the business already has 150 registered patients.

According to the state, patients across Illinois have purchased more than $800,000-worth of cannabis during the program's first month.

Wholesalers have paid more than $56,000 in taxes to the state.
